On the afternoon of March 17th, Mr. QIU Ye, general manager of Coventry University in China, and two project managers of Coventry University (Mr. WANG Songyi and Mr. ZHANG Xiaoli), visited our school. They are warmly received by FANG Zhaojun, assistant president of our school, SHI Zhuanzhuan, director of the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of our school, and LIU Li, dean of the International Business School, at the conference room 2303 of the administration building.
At the beginning of the meeting, the two sides introduced the participants of both sides. Later, associate Professor FANG Zhaojun briefly introduced the development history of Chongqing Finance and Economics College, the population of its teachers and students, disciplines and majors offered by our school, international cooperation and exchange achievements of our school and other basic information. Then Mr. QIU Ye, general manager of Coventry University in China, introduced the cooperation between Coventry University and universities in China, and exchanged views with the participants of our school on the cooperation of disciplines and majors between the two universities. Director SHI Zhuanzhuan confirmed with the visiting guests the details of the upcoming “3+1 (3-year Undergraduate study at Chongqing Finance and Economics College and 1-year Master Program at Coventry University”. The two sides also reached agreement on short-term online course projects and teacher training programs. After the meeting, the visiting guests, accompanied by director SHI Zhuanhuan, visited the campus and praised its elegant architectural style and beautifulenvironment.
Coventry University has been on the list of the top 15 universities in the UK in the Guardian University Rankings for the past five years (2016-2020), and the top 550 universities in the world in 2021QS. This visit represents the beginning of the cooperation between Coventry University and our school. The year of 2021 is the first new year after Chongqing Finance and Economics College was approved its new name (its original name was Rongzhi College of Chongqing Technology and Business University) and set sail. It is believed that with the help of the resources of famous international schools, our school will embark on a new journey of opening up to the outside world.
