In an effort to cultivate students’ interest in Korean language learning, improve their Korean language ability, and create a rich and interesting international campusatmosphere, the International Cooperation and Exchange Office of our school has successfully held this semester’s Course Five of the “Local Internationalization” Series - Korean Language Learning Open Course. All the seats available at the classroom were occupied by students and the atmosphere there was warm.
The teacher of this Korean open class activities is XIA Jinman from Jinyan International Minority Language Training Institution. Ms. Xia graduated from Ewha Woman’s University in South Korea. She has studied and lived in South Korea for more than five years and has rich experience in teaching Korean. At the beginning of the class, Ms. Xia started with the introduction of Korean vowels and consonants, and introduced its vocabulary structure and simple sentence patterns. Later she taught the loose, tight and aspirated sounds in Korean pronunciation, using the consonant formula “Goethe can’t read”. Her clear and infectious teaching method made the students enthusiastic about learning Korean. She also shared with students South Korea’s vibrant street culture, food and shopping. At the end of the class, Mr. MEI Jie, who is in charge of Jinyan International Minority Language Training Institution, introduced their current “Excellent Korean Learning Training Class” on campus.
As the fifth Course of the “Local Internationalization” Series, Korean Language Learning Open Course aimed to ignite students’ interest and enthusiasm in learning Korean, build a relaxed, lively, and interesting internationalization campus atmosphere, and provide students with the learning platform on campus to boost their international competitiveness.
