The 6th “Eastmoney Cup” National Financial Elite Challenge for College Students, organized by the Central Youth Development Department of the Communist Youth League, and cohosted by the Eastmoney Information Co., Ltd. and the National School Youth League Research Center, ended on August 22 as scheduled. This competition is aimed to boost college students’ financial practice education, enrich their knowledge of finance, strengthen their financial security awareness, improve their financial practice ability, and foster their employment and entrepreneurship quality. In this national competition, Rongzhi students competed with contestants from more than 2000 universities and colleges across China, and their counterparts, winning the champion with 7 groups being the first-prize winners, 10 groups the second-prize winners, and 20 groups the third-prize winners.
As is reported, this competition takes 3 months to cover all the four rounds: warm-up competition, school competition, provincial competition and national competition. Participants in this competition are a total of 300,000 students from 2,571 universities around China, among whom are 3819 Rongzhi students motivated by the staff of the School of Finance, ranking the eighth in terms of the number of applicants. A total of 1146 Rongzhi students entered the provincial competition ( a team competition, with a team of three). Thus, there are a total of 465 teams from Rongzhi, and 17 of which entered the final national competition. Competing with 2170 teams from across the country in the fierce competition, contestants from Rongzhi College outperformed their counterparts with 7 groups being the first-prize winners, 10 groups the second-prize winners, and 20 groups the third-prize winners. It is worth mentioning that Chen Jie, Ran Longli and You Zhenhui, under the guidance of Dr. He Han, vice dean of the School of Finance, won the first place in China with a bonus of 30,000 yuan.
Great concern from school leaders, teachers and students from Rongzhi College has nourished students’ outstanding results of this competition. All the instructors of the School of Finance of Rongzhi College conducted training for all the participating students before the competition in an attempt to enrichtheir knowledge of stock and improve their professional ability, and in return, all the participating students put their efforts into the competition andcombined their financial knowledge with the specific operation, showing their solid professional knowledge and strong application ability.
