On the afternoon of October 30th, 2020, the meeting of promoting teachers’overseas education and interpreting IELTS was successfully held in room 1502 of the teaching building. The meeting was presided over by SHI Zhuanzhuan, director of International Cooperation and Exchange Department of our school.Vice President of our school XIAO Su and more than 30 teachers of our school attended the meeting.
In the first stage of the meeting, SHI Introduced the background of the second phase of the plan on promoting teachers’ overseas education, interpreted relevant documents and clarified specific requirements. Then, she answered questions asked by teachers present. Later, XIAO Su made a summary speech, pointing out that the promotion of teachers’ academic qualifications is not only necessary for teachers’ career, but also a requirement of this age. She then emphasized that the plan on promoting teachers’ overseas education embodies our school’s strategy of strengthening the school with talents, and that is why she suggests teachers seize the opportunity to improve themselves so as to better serve our students, our school and the society in the future.
IELTS test is a must for teachers to achieve overseas education. Therefore, at the second phase of the meeting, YANG Kangshi, chief trainer of IELTS reading from Foreign Examination Department of Chongqing New Oriental detailed interpretation of IELTS, including its test content, test process and test preparations, etc., letting the teachers present get a more direct and in-depth knowledge and understanding of IELTS, boosting their confidence and determination to learn English well.
“The Plan on Promoting Teachers’ Overseas Education” is one of the important measures for our school to realize the internationalization of education. In the future, our school will continue enriching the internationalization of teachers, expanding the platform for the internationalization of teachers, promoting the two major strategies of our school (the internationalization of our school and the cultivation of talents strengthening our school).
