Recently, the 11th LAN Qiao Cup National Software and Information Technology Talent Competition came to an end. Five students of our school, under the guidance of the teachers of the School of Software of our school, achieved a good performance at the competition, and they are GUI Huanxiao, SHEN Wenlong, CHEN Long, YANG Yang and XuRan.
The Competition is cohosted by College Computer Science and Technology Teaching Steering Committee of the Ministry of Education, Industry and Information Technology Talent Exchange Center, and supported by China Software Industry Association. In the past ten years, more than 400,000 students from more than 1,300 colleges and universities including Peking University and Tsinghua University have registered for this competition. It has become the leading mode of talent training and selection in China and has been deeply recognized by the industry as one of the top IT science and technology competitions, with many well-known enterprises (like Baidu and IBM) participating in it. The year 2020 was the first time for our school to have organized students to participate in the competition, achieving a good performance of entering the national final after winning the municipal first prize.
Our school has always attached great importance to the construction of disciplines and majors as well as the cultivation of students’ professional ability, with an emphasis on promoting learning and teaching through competitions, and strengthen the integration of production and teaching, in an effort to cultivate application-oriented talents with new engineering educational background. In the future, the School of Software of our school will continue to take various professional competitions of their disciplines as an opportunity to promote the training of professional technical personnel equipped with the knowledge of software, in an effort to send high-end talents with innovation and practical ability to the software industry.
