Recently, the General Office of the National Ministry of Education issued the Notice on the Announcement of the List of 2020 National and Provincial First-class Undergraduate Major Construction Points (Education and Higher Education Department letter [2021] No. 7), and officially announced the list of 2020 first-class undergraduate major construction sites “Double Ten Thousand Plan” (national and provincial first-class undergraduate major). Our schools' finance major has been selected as a national first-class undergraduate major construction site in 2020. This is a historic breakthrough for application-oriented universities in China.
In the past 20 years, under the strong support of the original parent school Chongqing Technology and Business University and its partner New OU Peng Group, the finance major of our school has won many honors and continuously achieved breakthroughs in its professional construction projects, laying a solid foundation for the construction of first-class national major. In December 2013, the finance major was approved as one of the first “Three Special Action Plan” characteristic discipline construction projects for colleges and universities in Chongqing, and successfully passed the acceptance inspection of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission in December 2016. In September 2015, the CFA Certified Financial Analyst Program was established and the CFA class started smoothly. In December 2015, the specialty group of finance characteristic disciplines (including finance, credit management, insurance, investment, economics) was approved as one of the Chongqing “Three Special Action Plan” characteristic subject construction projects. The specialty group of finance characteristic disciplines of our school is the only financial characteristic disciplines group at the municipal level in all Chongqing higher institutions, and the only characteristic disciplines group at the municipal level in its counterparts across China, and it has passed the acceptance inspection of Chongqing Municipal Education Commission in December 2018. In June 2018, the finance major was approved as the only first-class undergraduate major (cultivation) project in Chongqing, and was recognized as the first-class undergraduate major construction project by Chongqing Municipal Education Commission in June 2019.
In this new era, the finance major of our school will take the construction of national first-class majoras an opportunity, and work on strengthening the construction of discipline, teaching organizations, and first-class course, and boosting innovative education pattern, education teaching reform, and talents cultivation, with an aim to provide high-quality all-round applied financial talents for the inland international financial center centered on Chongqing,
