Recently, the natioanl Ministry of Education issued the Notice on the Announcement of the Results of the Registration and Approval of Undergraduate Majors in Universities in 2020 (Education and Higher Education Department letter [2021] No. 1). Our school will add three majors in 2021: Digital Media Art, Digital Economy and Artificial Intelligence. Digital Media Art offers a bachelor’s degree in art and that is abreakthrough for our school to include art as a discipline, making the number of undergraduate majors of our school reached 38.
In recent years, our school has been working on pushing forward the construction of an applied university, speeding up the building of professional groups that centered on the integration of production and education (a software outsourcing services professional group and an artificial intelligence professional group), and the integration of exhibition and new media (a cultural and creative specialty group). Also, a smart city management professional group, based on big data, has been built. In an effort to promote the integrated development of engineering majors and business majors in the new era, our school has made related adjustment, optimization and upgrading, with an aim to provide personnel and intellectual support to the construction of Chongqing as an open highland in mainland China.
Our school will continue to earnestly increase the guidance and support for the construction of new majors, and strengthen the construction of new majors, in an effort to offer high-quality applied talents who can meet the needs of the development of local industrial economy.
