In an effort to better build first-class undergraduate courses and comprehensively improve its quality, a lecture on“First-Class Undergraduate Curriculum Construction and Application” was held in Smart Classroom 1220 on the morning of April 20, 2021. The lecture invited Ms. Kong Xinkai, course operation director of MOOC Editorial Department of Superstar Group, as the keynote speaker. Also present are heads of all departments of our school, associate professors and professors newly promoted in 2019 and 2020, and faculty members who are interested in applying for first-class undergraduate courses. This lecture, jointly organized by the Academic Affairs Office of our school and the Teacher Development Center of our school, was hosted by Teng Xueying, deputy director of the Teacher Development Center of our school.
Ms. Kong Xinkai gave the lecture titled “Building First-class Courses from Usual Teaching”, emphasizing the key points according to the four categories of first-class undergraduate courses: First, online courses and its application form center on online courses and data; Second, practical courses application form centers on presenting a teaching plan and building practice base; Third, offline course application form also centers on presenting a teaching plan; Fourthly, the application form of a mixed course consists of lecture, online class, and data. She also explained and analyzed the step-to-step filling skills of the application form. Teachers attending the lecture were reminded to carefully read the implementation opinions of the Ministry of Education on the construction of first-class undergraduate courses, especially the Document No.8 [2019] of Higher Education. At the end of the lecture, Mr. Kong concluded that filling the application form is only a “skill”, what’s most important is to insist on reforming teaching, teaching well, and upgrading the course nonstop.
After the lecture, the teachers communicated with Ms. Kong about the application forms they had written, receiving patient guidance from her. They said they benefited a lot from the training.
