On the afternoon of July 2nd, our school and the University of La Coruna in Spain had a video conference to discuss cooperation and then held an online signing ceremony. Present at the meeting were administrators from both sides, including president Wu Hua’an, assistant President Fang Chao Jun, president Julio E. Abalde Alonso, director of International Relations Begona Crespo, and International Representative Juan Carlos Izquierdo. The meeting was presided over by Ms Shi Zhuanzhuan, director of International Cooperation and Exchange of our school.
At the beginning of the conference, Julio E. Abalde Alonso addressed the audience, introducing the general situation of the University of La Coruna in Spain, and then he expressed his hope of applying for a Sino-foreign cooperation program with our university. After that, Wu Hua’ an also briefly introduced the basic situation of our school, and he mentioned that this year, as the first year of the 14th Five-Year Plan of our school, will be more beneficial to the international cooperation and exchange between the two schools. Then, the two sides discussed the selection of majors and other aspects of the cooperative education. Finally, in the witness of the participants of both sides, the letter of intent was officially signed by our school and the University of La Coruna in Spain.
Universidad de LaCoruna (UDC) is one of the public universities in Spain. It currently offers majors in industrial engineering, computer engineering, finance and accounting, and these majors are similar to that of our school in terms of professional settings. The two sides reached a deep consensus on cooperation at this meeting. It is believed that the international cooperation and exchange between the two universities will bear fruit as soon as possible and benefit the common development of the two universities.
