On July 5, 2021, the 2021 Workshop on Improving Vocational English Application Ability and Standard Quantification was run in Chongqing. Fang Zhaojun, assistant principal of our school, was invited to attend the meeting. During the conference, ETS TOEIC China Committee granted our school the TOEIC Testing cooperation center. This means that our school become the first school in Chongqing that partner with ETS TOEIC China Committee in their Project on “Globalization,Standardization and Application”, and the first official TOEIC test center in Chongqing.
TOEIC, or Test of English for International Communication, is developed by ETS, the most authoritative testing organization across the world, to measure the English skills of people working in an international environment. As the world’s largest business and professional English test, TOEIC has been gradually gaining recognition in the field of international business communication in China. In campus recruitment, TOEIC score can partly help improve the passing rate of online applications and chances of interview for job seekers. For example, more and more banks, foreign-funded enterprises and other large enterprises have gradually used TOEIC test in various recruitment and promotion selection.
This is another big breakthrough in our international development, as it not only provides a platform for our teachers and students to obtain international professional qualification certificates, but also increases the competitive advantage for our students to apply for jobs or pursue overseas education.
