The Opening Ceremony of “International Training Class for Students’ Scientific Research Ability”

 

At 18:30 on the evening of November 25, 2020, our school successfully held the opening ceremony of “International Training Class for Students’ Scientific Research Ability”. This program is jointly implemented by our school and University of Raman in Malaysia, and that is another innovative move in our work of international cooperation and exchange. There are eighteen students of our schools attended the ceremony.

 

The opening ceremony was presided by the director of International Cooperation and Exchange Office of our school, SHI Zhuanzhuan. She first introduced the background and significance of the establishment of the “International Training class for Students’ Scientific Research Ability”, and pointed out the necessity for college students to improve their international literacy, scientific research ability and essay writing ability. Then, she put forward three requirements to the students of the class: First, “positive attitude”, which means that students are required to cherish opportunities, correct attitude and learn modestly under the guidance of international tutors; Second, “strict standards”, which means that students are required to demand high of themselves, to progress step by step, and to constantly improve their all-round quality; Third,“effective outcome”; which means that students are required to attach importance to learning results and present their learning and research results in the form of high-quality research reports, graduation papers or journal papers. In the end, she proposed three points that should be paid attention to in the process of intercultural communication: First, the importance of safeguarding national security in academic exchanges; Secondly, the importance of following academic morals during academic research activity; Third, the importance of understanding and respecting cultural differences in foreign exchanges.

“International Training Class for Students’ Scientific Research Ability” is another important practice of our school to improve students’ international literacy after introducing the online international course provided by University of Raman in Malaysia. It is also another important attempt of our school to integrate internationalization into the talent training of our school. It is believed that with the joint efforts of all parts, our students’ intercultural cognitive ability and intercultural communication ability will be improved in a steady way.
