On December 20,2020, the closing ceremony of the Second National Artificial Intelligence Technology Service Competition of 2020 One Belt & One Road and Brics Skill Development & Technology Innovation Competition was held in Suzhou Vocational University. The two participating teams from the School of iFlytek Artificial Intelligence of our school, led by the full-time teacher JINAG Kang, won the second prize and honorable mention respectively, with the team of CHEN Hong, CEN Xujie, CHEN Xiang won the second prize and the team of WU Zejie, TANG Xiaolin and LI Feifei won an honorable mention.The 6 students are from the air communication class of 2018 of our school.
One Belt & One Road and Brics Skill Development & Technology Innovation Competition is an international competition recognized by the preparatory committee of the 2017 Brics Summit, recorded in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, PRC, and approved by the Brics Business Council. This competiton was hosted by the Brics Business Council and the Sino-Foreign Cultural and People-to-people Exchange Center of the Ministry of Education of China Invention Association, and jointly organized by the Brick Business Council (Chinese side) Skills Development Working Group, Suzhou Vocational University, Iflytek Co.,Ltd., and Beijing Jiake New Technology Co.,Ltd. It offers 1 first prize, 2 second prizes, 3 third prizes and 2 honorable mention, and there are a total of 8 teams from Shanghai, Chongqing, Hefei, Wuxi and South Africa were selected as finalists.
The competition, themed on autonomous driving, required the work of each team to complete six sub-tasks within 20 minutes without any human intervention. Under the leadership of the teacher JIANG Kang, the two teams from our school, made improvements after repeated training and practicing, achieving good performance in the competition.
This competition fully embodied the Brics spirit of cultivating internationalized high-tech talents with future technical skills. Our school has always attached great importance to the construction of disciplines and majors as well as the cultivation of students’ professional ability, with an emphasis on promoting learning, teaching, and research by competition, in an effort to deepen the integration of production and teaching, and cultivate application-oriented talents under the background of new engineering. In the future, the School of IFlytek Artificial Intelligence will follow closely the pace of the state and our school, continue to take various professional competitions related to their disciplines, in an effort to train application-oriented talents with innovative ability and practical skills.
