Small Maker platform cultivates dreams big. At 12:30 on May 14, 2021, the opening ceremony of the Maker Faire of the School of Entrepreneurship of our school was held in the hall of the first floor of the Maker Fair. The administration attending the opening ceremony are Tang Chuanchuan, Minister of the Student Affairs Department of our school, Zeng Zhen, Dean of the School of Continuing Education of our school, Li Lan, Deputy Secretary of the General Party Branch of the School of Logistics Engineering of our school.
Zeng Zhen pointed out in his speech at the opening ceremony that the Maker Faire is an innovation and entrepreneurship exhibition and exchange area established by our university to actively adapt to the new trend of mass entrepreneurship and innovation under the new normal of economic development. She also stressed that the Maker Faire is an important measure taken to perfect innovation and entrepreneurship education system in our school, and practice various college students’ innovation and entrepreneurship project. This platform, established for the whole school students to improve their innovation and entrepreneurial ability and their corresponding professional quality, is hoped to help students grow up better by actively participating in the entrepreneurship practice, forming an innovative entrepreneurial atmosphere of resource sharing, mutual exchanges and mutual learning.
At present, there are more than 30 student entrepreneurial teams settled in the market, including Lingji ① puzzle box, Cool Girl, Kuma sister ornaments, Xingmu Encounter washing and care products, Yifu flower art, Shi Guangli flower shop, Pin Doudou DIY small shop and so on. In the market, there is also a display of entrepreneurship projects and a consulting area for law housekeeper, providing free legal advisory services regarding internship, employment and other rights and interests for the students of our school. The opening scene had a strong lively atmosphere, many students came to learn about the market and choose their favorite goods.
It is reported that, as a part of our school’s Maker Space, the Maker Faire functions as the exhibition of innovation and entrepreneurship incubation projects, the practice of entrepreneurship projects, the training of mass entrepreneurship projects, the learning of entrepreneurship knowledge and the like. The successful opening of the Maker Faire provides a broader space and development opportunity for our students to start their own businesses, and also provides a platform for our school to cultivate a group of entrepreneurial elites with practical ability and business thinking. Starting at the Maker Faire, the School of Entrepreneurship of our school will further work with experts from national innovation mentors, and well-known enterprises to build a college-enterprise cooperated and industry-education integrated platform for innovation and entrepreneurship education, in an effort to foster more high-quality innovative start-ups and a number of highly qualified innovative entrepreneurial elite talents. And this will help to the talent training and long-term development of our school.
